Ireland’s boxer Kellie Harrington won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The 31-year-old Kellie Harrington took the women’s boxing title in the 60kg category with a 5-0 victory (29:28, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27) over Brazilian Beatriz Ferreira.

Kellie Harrington, who is the 2018 world champion from Delhi, lost the first round with 2:3 judges’ votes, but in the next two, she was unbeaten against the 2019 world champion Ferreira and received the sympathy of all judges around the ring.

The bronze medals in the category went to Sudaporn Seesondee from Thailand and Mira Potkonen from Finland.
