Top-seeded Iga Swiatek continue her successful performance at the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open after defeating Bianca Andreescu (Canada) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:6) and qualified for the Round of 16.
The Polish tennis player won 62% of the first serve points and saved 4 break points to win the match and advance to the fourth round of the tournament.
Both players exchanged a break at the very beginning of the first set. Iga Swiatek succeeded to take a lead with a new break in the 6th game and saved this advance to the end.
The second set, however, was with several turnovers and finally went into a tiebreak. Iga Swiatek took a lead after an early break, but after winning four consecutive games and making two breaks, Bianca Andreescu turned over the score. Iga Swiatek made two breaks and again took the lead and even served for winning the match, but her opponent succeeded to equalize by breaking her on 15. Thus, the set entered into a tiebreak, which was one undoubtedly by the Polish player by 7-1.
In the next round, the top-seeded Iga Swiatek will face Emma Raducanu (UK).
