Hungarian athlete Boglarka Takacs

Boglarka Takacs is a Hungarian athlete, who competes in sprint distances of 100m and 200m. She is a European U18 Championships Silver medalist, six-time National champion, as well as National Indoor champion.

Boglarka Takacs was born on August 28, 2001. She started in sports as a kid, trying volleyball, soccer, badminton, and tennis, but at the age of 14, she turned to athletics. She became a silver medalist at the 2016 Budapest Regional U16 Championships and a gold medalist at the 2016 Debrecen Hungarian U16/U14 Championships in 100m. She also competed at the 2016 Szekesfehervar Hungarian U16 Team Championships, winning the silver at the 100m individual and gold at the 4x100m relay.

In 2017, Boglarka Takacs won the silver in 100m individually at the 14th European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, Hungary, and also competed in the 4x100m relay in the same event. Meanwhile, during the season, she proved to be one of the top young athletes of her country, winning the silver medals at the Budapest Hungarian U18 Indoor Championships in 60m and 200m, and gold at the 4x200m, as well as gold at the Miskolc Hungarian U18 Championships in 100m. She also won the silver at the Miskolc Hungarian U18 Championships in 200m and the gold in the 4x100m relay and the silver at the 4x400m relay at the Budapest Hungarian U20/U18/U16/U14 Relays Championships.

Boglarka Takacs made her biggest achievement in 2018, winning the silver medal at the Gyor European U18 Championships in 100m, as well silvers at the Szekesfehervar Hungarian Championships in 100m and 4x100m. She also competed at the Tampere IAAF World U20 Championships and the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, but remained without honor. Meanwhile, Boglarka Takacs dominated also the youth Hungarian championships. At the Budapest Hungarian U18 Indoor Championships, she won the gold at 60m, 200m, as well as 4x200m, while at the Gyor Hungarian U18 Championships, she earned the gold at 100m and 200m.

In 2019, Boglarka Takacs made another strong indoor season, winning the gold at Hungarian Indoor Championships in 200m and the silver in 100m, as well as gold at the Hungarian U20 Indoor Championships in 60m, 200m, and 4x200m. She also won the silver at the ASVO Vienna Indoor Gala in 60m and gold at 200m. During the outdoor season, Boglarka Takacs won the gold at the Hungarian Championships in 100m and 200m, as well as silver in the 4x100m relay. She won gold medals at the Hungarian U20 Championships in 100m and 200m and as well silver in 4x100m. She competed at the Boras European U20 Championships in 100m but remained 8th in the final.

In 2020, Boglarka Takacs won silver at the Hungarian Indoor Championships in 60m and gold in 200m, as well as bronze medals at the Hungarian Indoor Championships in 100m and Hungarian Championships in 4x400m.

Boglarka Takacs missed the indoor season in 2021 but performed strongly during the outdoor one. She won silver at the Hungarian Championships in 100m and 4x100m relay, as well as gold in 200m. She won the gold at the European Athletics Team Championships in the 4x100m relay and competed at the European Athletics U23 Championships in 100m and 200m, but remained out of the finals. At the youth level, she dominated the Hungarian U23 Championships, winning the gold in 100m and 200m.

In 2022, Boglarka Takacs won the silver at the Hungarian Indoor Championships in 60m. During the outdoor season, she won the gold at Hungarian Championships in 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. She competed at the Munich European Athletics Championships in the 100m and 4x100m relay but remained out of the finals. During the season she won the gold at Liese Prokop Memorial and Austrian Open in 100m, as well as silver at the Austrian Open in 200m.

Boglarka Takacs made her best season so far in 2023, setting a national record in 100m and 200m during the Hungarian GP Series in Budapest. During the season she won the bronze at the Hungarian Indoor Championships in 60m and competed at the Istanbul European Athletics Indoor Championships, but missed winning the honor.
