The Brazilian team of Ferroviaria won by penalties the semi-final versus U. de Chile of Copa Libertadores Women, qualifying for Sunday’s final versus the Columbian America de Cali.
Ferroviaria, which is a champion in the Colombia 2015 edition and second in Ecuador 2019, had higher possession during the whole game, but failed to score because of the great work of the goalkeeper of U. de Chile, the Colombian Natalia Campos.
However, U. de Chile was very close to the triumph but Yessenia Lopez missed a penalty in the 42nd minute.
After a goalless draw, the Brazilians won by 7-6 after 18 penalties, with superb saves from the goalkeeper Luciana, who caught three shots of the Chilean team.
Ferroviaria will play on Sunday its third final of Copa Libertadores Women in an attempt to win its second title.
America de Cali, who won bronze medals in 2019, made a surprise on Wednesday after eliminating the last champion, Corinthians, after penalties, as the match finished 1-1 in the regular time.
