Elena Rybakina qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Slovenia Open

The Wimbledon 2022 champion Elena Rybakina qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Slovenia Open. She defeated Tereza Martincova with 2-0 (6:4, 6:1) in 73 minutes.

The match started terribly for the third-seeded Russian-Kazakhstani tennis player, who was behind with 0:4 after two breaks for Tereza Martincova. However, Elena Rybakina returned to the match after winning her serve and five more consecutive games to win the set by 6:4. Since the end of the match she gave only 1 more game for Tereza Martincova and won the second set by 6:1.

In the quarter-finals, Elena Rybakina will face Lesia Tsurenko, who surprisingly defeated the fifth-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova.

For place in the quarter-finals, the top-seeded Emma Raducanu will face Anna-Lena Friedsam, while the second-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia will play versus Cristina Bucsa. The US Open 2022 doubles champion Katerina Siniakova will also try to reach the semi-finals at the WTA 250 Slovenia Open in a match versus Jodie Anna Burrage.
