Czech tennis double Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the title at the Tokyo Olympics

Czech tennis double Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the title at the Tokyo Olympics, after winning the match versus Swiss couple Viktorija Golubic and Belinda Bencic by 2-0 (7:5, 6:1). The match lasted an hour and a half and was won relatively easily by the Czech players, on the background of the fatigue at the Swiss player Belinda Bencic, who yesterday played a hard match at the singles final.

The top-seeded Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova started the match relatively calm. The first set was moving game-for-game without breaks until 5:5. The nerves of the Czech ladies were stronger and they had 2 breakpoints in the 11th game, winning the second one and taking important advantage, which helped them to win the set by 7:5.

In the second set, the fatigue at Belinda Bencic was visible and the Czech double won relatively easy by 6:1 with a total of 5 breaks.

Thus Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the gold at Tokyo 2020 Olympics, while Swiss couple Viktorija Golubic and Belinda Bencic got the silver.

Yesterday, Brazilians Luisa Stefani and Laura Pigossi won the bronze medals after winning versus Russians Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina by 2-1 (4:6; 6:4; 11:9).
