British athlete Kate French has become an Olympic champion in women’s modern pentathlon in Tokyo 2020. The British athlete collected 1,385 points in the five disciplines: 200m swimming, fencing, jumping, shooting and running.
The result of the British is a new Olympic record. She had 15 seconds of inactivity after the first three disciplines, but managed to catch up in the shooting and the 800-meter run and won gold. The silver is for the 2012 Olympic champion from London Laura Asadauskaita from Lithuania with 1,370 points.
Laura Asadauskaita was the most accurate in running and shooting with 605 points, which is a new Olympic record. The bronze went to the Hungarian Sarolta Kovacs with 1,368 points.
