Belinda Bencic is the first finalist at the women’s tennis tournament at the Tokyo Olympics

The Swiss Belinda Bencic is the first finalist at the women’s tennis tournament at the Tokyo Olympics after winning the semi-final versus Kazakhstan’s player Elena Rybakina. The Swiss player won with 2-1 (7:6; 4:6; 6:3) for two hours and 44 minutes.

The match started with an exchange of serving games and the first break came for Belinda Bencic in the third game of the first set. She recorded an important break but failed to defend it and Elena Rybakina made the result 2:2. Kazakhstan’s player took an advance at the 6th game and took a lead 2:4 and even served to win the set at 3:5, but Belinda Bencic returned to the match and returned the break, making the result 4:5. Both players exchanged serving games and reached a tie-break, which was won by the Swiss with 7:2.

The second set started well for Belinda Bencic, who registered a break in the second game and took a lead with 2:0. However, again she was not able to defend it and the result was equalized to 2:2. In the 7th game of the set, Elena Rybakina succeeded to break the service of Belinda Bencic and took an important lead, which did not lose by the end of the set, winning it by 4:6.

Kazakhstan’s player Elena Rybakina started the 3rd on the wings of her success and keeping the good pace. She registered a break in the first game of the set and took a lead. However, Belinda Bencic returned to the match in the 4th game, winning it at the service of Elena Rybakina. The result was a draw and both players exchanged a break to make it 3:3. Belinda Bencic made an important break at 5:3 and took the match with 2-1 (7:6; 4:6; 6:3).

Belinda Bencic will wait for her opponent after the match between Elina Svitolina and Marketa Vondrousova.
