Asmirach Nega earned the victory in the woman’s race of the Irish Dublin Marathon

Asmirach Nega (Ethiopia) earned the victory in the woman’s race of the Irish Dublin Marathon. The Ethiopian athlete finished the course in a record time of 2:24.13 hours. She won ahead of the last year’s winner and her compatriot Sorome Negash, who finished in 2:24:45 hours. Grete Dukale completed an Ethiopian triumph in the podium finishing third in 2:28:29 hours.

Ann-Marie McGlynn ran 2:34.04 hours to win the Irish women’s national title in the event.

Over 22,000 people are taking part this year, with 2,000 volunteers supporting them.

Earlier in the season, Asmirach Nega won the bronze at Marathon International De Rabat, Morocco.
