Aleia Hobbs is an American professional track and field athlete specializing in sprints. She is in Top 10 of the all-time global rankings of 60m indoor with a result below 7.00 sec alongside Jamaican superstars Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah. She won the gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene at 4x100m relay, as well as silver at the 4x100m relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Aleia Hobbs was born on February 24, 1996, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. She started in athletics from an early age and made a spectacular performance at the college level. Aleia Hobbs won four national collegiate titles in 2018, winning the 60m at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, the 100m and the 4x100m relay at the NCAA Division I Championships, and the 100m at the US Championships. Aleia Hobbs also represented the United States at the 2015 Pan American Junior Championships, where she earned a silver medal in the 100m and a gold medal in the 4x100m relay.
Aleia Hobbs represented the United States at the 2019 World Relays, anchoring the United States to gold.
Aleia Hobbs opened her outdoor 2021 season at the Battle on the Bayou in New Orleans, Louisiana with a world-leading time of 10.99 sec in the 100m.
In 2022, Aleia Hobbs won the Millrose Games in New York at 60m indoor, as well as New York Grand Prix at 100m outdoor. She won also a silver at the USATF Golden Games at 100m. In the Diamond League she has one victory at the Athletissima (Switzerland) and one silver at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial (Poland).
