Sha’Carri Richardson scored a prestigious victory over world 200m champion and world 100m medalist Shericka Jackson at the Silesia Diamond League. The American athlete won the 100m sprint with 10.76 sec (0.2 m/sec). Sha’Carri Richardson improved her run in the second part and with the stronger final meters she managed to earn the first position. Shericka Jackson (Jamaica), who tops the world rankings for the season with 10.65 sec, finished second with 10.78 sec.
Ewa Swoboda (Poland) improved her personal record and took the third position with 10.94 sec. Another athlete went under 11-sec mark in this run – fourth-place finisher Twanisha Terry (USA), who finished in 10.99 sec. Daryll Nieta (UK) remained fifth with 11.01 sec.
Sha’Carri Richardson is an American track and field sprinter who competes in the 100m and 200m. She rose to fame in 2019 as a freshman at Louisiana State University, running 10.75 sec to break the 100m collegiate record at the NCAA Division I Championships. This winning time made her one of the ten fastest women in history at 19 years old. She is also 2017 Trujillo Pan American U20 Championships gold medalist in 4x100m relay.
